E-O-Y Musings

It's time to reflect AND plan

It's December, the buzz of a year nearly finished and a new year of opportunity on the horizon is everywhere. While most of us are busy with gift lists, holiday plans, and year-end clean-up, it's imperative to take a moment to reflect on where we've been and where we're headed. And, more importantly, to apply those findings to smarter, more cost-effective business plans for the coming year. To get started, you shouldn't need more than a basic Excel spreadsheet.

- Did you spend your time wisely?

Are you trying to save money by handling tasks that could easily (and maybe even better) be handled by an employee or contractor? Think about your talents, what you'd like to personally and professionally accomplish, and where you can be most effective. That's where you should spend your time and energy. Delegate or hire out the rest.

- What marketing channels proved most valuable?

If your X axis is 'expense' and the Y axis is 'customer acquisition' and if most of your dots are in the upper left corner, keep it up! If not, take a look at how to 'mix things up' next year.

- Is it worth pursuing other channels?

Have you thought about connecting with customers in other ways? Do you have an interesting news-worthy story you'd like to share? New marketing tactic or channel you'd like to explore? We can help. We love talking to customers, volunteers, the media, funders...just about anybody - to elevate your business and enhance your bottom line!

Rest up over the holidays. Then give us a call. We'd love to be among the firsts to wish you a Happy New Year.
